Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 has closed its doors with more exhibitors and visitors than the previous edition. Over five days, the fair brought together more than 112,000 professionals from 173 countries and 4,400 exhibiting companies from 80 countries, cementing its position as one of the great international meeting points for the automotive and aftermarket industry.
This year's edition put the spotlight on some of the changes transforming the aftermarket: artificial intelligence, software-defined vehicles, connectivity, driver assistance systems and new propulsion technologies. For component manufacturers, the fair was once again a place to present solutions, share knowledge and build new professional relationships.
One of the key figures from the Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 results is the growth in attendance. The fair welcomed more than 112,000 trade visitors, compared with more than 107,000 at the previous edition, coming from 173 countries.
The number of exhibiting companies also grew, reaching 4,400 companies from 80 countries. International scope was once again one of the defining features of an event aimed at workshops, distributors and industry.
This international character is also reflected in where visitors came from: 66% came from outside Germany, while 34% came from the German market. In addition, the number of German trade visitors grew by 18.5% compared with the previous edition.
The Spanish components industry was represented by a delegation of manufacturers as part of the Spanish Group Pavilion, organised by SERNAUTO in collaboration with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment.
The participating Autoparts From Spain companies were AMC, Autofren Seinsa, DOGA, DYS-IR, FAE, Frenkit, Fersa Bearings, ICER Brakes, Proquisur, Talosa and Tecnodiesel Murcia, eleven companies that brought their solutions, industrial capabilities and expertise across different vehicle and aftermarket areas to the international market.
Taking part in a trade fair of this scale allows Spanish suppliers to maintain direct contact with distributors, manufacturers and professionals from different markets, and to showcase the diversity of solutions offered by the components industry made in Spain.
Technology was one of the major themes of Automechanika Frankfurt 2026. Artificial intelligence, software-defined vehicles, connectivity, driver assistance systems and new propulsion technologies were among the fair's main topics.
One of the new features was HighTech4Mobility, a new space dedicated specifically to software-defined vehicles, connected systems and digital services.
The fair addressed issues such as vehicle data, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and new business models in the aftermarket. The programme combined talks, case studies and networking spaces designed to facilitate exchange between companies, workshops, distributors and industry.
Artificial intelligence was also present in areas closer to everyday workshop activity, including diagnostics and robotic paint application, among the experiences that attracted the most interest.
Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 was not limited to product displays. The programme brought together nearly 500 activities and events, covering technology, mobility, repair, training and innovation.
Training also had a prominent place. More than 4,600 pupils, students and apprentices took part in AMBITION activities, where they learned about careers in the automotive sector and the job opportunities it offers.
The presence of new generations and the need to bring in profiles capable of responding to technological transformation are two of the challenges currently facing the automotive industry and its value chain.
The fair's results also reflect a positive assessment from companies and visitors alike. 90% of exhibitors intend to return to Automechanika Frankfurt in 2028, rising to 93% among German companies.
Among visitors, 96% said they were satisfied with their participation, four percentage points more than in 2024, and 89% would recommend visiting the fair.
Beyond the figures, the 2026 edition once again showed how the aftermarket is changing. The adoption of new technologies goes hand in hand with the needs of repair, maintenance and component distribution, in an industry that must adapt its products and services to increasingly connected and technological vehicles.
For Spanish manufacturers, Automechanika Frankfurt was another opportunity to strengthen their international presence, showcase their capabilities and stay in contact with the aftermarket's key players.
The next edition of Automechanika Frankfurt will take place from 5 to 9 September 2028.
