Automechanika Frankfurt 2026: Spanish component manufacturers strengthen their international presenc

Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 opens its doors with a strong Spanish presence at the Spanish Group Pavilion. For five days, manufacturers, distributors and aftermarket professionals from around the world gather in Frankfurt to discover the latest solutions and trends in the automotive industry.

From 8 to 12 September, the leading international trade fair for the aftermarket and automotive parts sector once again turns Frankfurt into one of the industry's main international meeting points.

Automechanika Frankfurt, the largest international aftermarket event

In its last edition, Automechanika Frankfurt brought together more than 4,100 exhibitors from 76 countries and over 107,000 trade visitors from 172 markets, figures that reflect the international scope of this event for manufacturers, distributors and buyers.

The fair is organised across 19 halls and an outdoor area, structured by product type: components, lubricants, accessories and workshop equipment. The Spanish companies present through the Spanish Pavilion are spread across most of these areas, reflecting the diversity of the Spanish components sector.

We have already analysed in detail why Automechanika Frankfurt remains the great international event for automotive suppliers.

Autoparts From Spain brings the capabilities of Spanish manufacturers to Frankfurt

Autoparts From Spain is once again taking part in Automechanika Frankfurt with a delegation of Spanish automotive component manufacturers as part of the Spanish Group Pavilion, organised by SERNAUTO in collaboration with ICEX Spain Trade and Investment.

€24.688 billion in component exports in 2025

Spanish participation in Automechanika Frankfurt comes at a time of significant international activity for the sector.

In 2025, the Spanish automotive supplier industry reached a turnover of €40.949 billion and exported components worth €24.688 billion, more than 60% of its total turnover.

The European Union accounted for 68% of exports, with Germany as the leading destination, worth €4.051 billion, followed by France, with €3.738 billion. Outside the European Union, the United Kingdom remained the main non-EU market, with €1.405 billion, 4.7% more than the previous year.

These figures reflect the importance of international markets for Spanish suppliers and the need to maintain a presence close to customers, distributors and strategic partners.

An industry that puts innovation at the centre

The internationalisation of the Spanish components sector goes hand in hand with a strong commitment to innovation. In 2025, Spanish suppliers invested €1.220 billion in R&D&I, equivalent to 3% of their turnover and double the average for Spanish industry as a whole.

This technological capability also carries significant weight in the vehicle itself: components made by suppliers account for around 75% of a car's final value.

At Automechanika Frankfurt, this evolution is reflected in an agenda shaped by some of the main transformations the automotive industry is undergoing: electrification, artificial intelligence, digitalisation, connectivity and autonomous driving.

All the sector's data is available in the overview of the Spanish automotive supplier industry in 2025.

HighTech4Mobility focuses on software-defined vehicles

Among the new features of the 2026 edition is the new HighTech4Mobility forum, dedicated to the latest innovations and solutions related to software-defined vehicles (SDVs).

Digitalisation is expanding the role of technology within the vehicle and also transforming the needs of manufacturers and suppliers. Alongside this new space, the Automechanika Frankfurt programme addresses issues such as innovation, industrial transformation, sustainability, and attracting and training talent.

These are areas closely linked to some of the challenges currently facing the Spanish components industry, from electrification and connectivity to vehicle digitalisation and the development of more sustainable production processes.

A key event to strengthen international presence

Taking part in Automechanika Frankfurt allows Spanish manufacturers to bring their solutions closer to professionals from markets around the world and to strengthen business relationships at a time of transformation for the industry.

As Mª Begoña Llamazares, Markets Manager at SERNAUTO and spokesperson for Autoparts From Spain, points out, the fair represents an opportunity for Spanish companies to stay close to customers, distributors and strategic partners and to strengthen their position in markets as important as Germany, France and the United Kingdom.

Over the five days of the fair, Autoparts From Spain and the companies that make up its delegation at the Spanish Group Pavilion demonstrate the capability of an industry that combines industrial experience, technological innovation and an international outlook.

Automechanika Frankfurt 2026 is once again a meeting point for understanding where the automotive industry is heading and for highlighting the role of Spanish suppliers in this transformation.
