The Spanish automotive supplier industry continues to consolidate its role as one of the leading international players in the sector. Against a backdrop marked by geopolitical uncertainty, technological transformation, and uneven performance across the main automotive markets, Spanish companies demonstrated their ability to adapt to a changing environment in 2025 without losing competitiveness.
Exports reached €24.688 billion, a figure that confirms Spain’s position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of automotive components. Although export volume fell slightly by 1.5% compared with the previous year, the sector maintained a strong international presence thanks to its capacity for innovation, industrial excellence, and an increasingly market-diversified strategy.
As Mª Begoña Llamazares, Markets Director at SERNAUTO and spokesperson for Autoparts From Spain, points out, "the 2025 results confirm that Spanish automotive suppliers continue to be trusted partners for vehicle manufacturers worldwide. Our technological capabilities, industrial excellence, supply chain flexibility, and commitment to innovation allow us to respond quickly to the needs of the global industry and continue strengthening Spain’s international position."
The European Union once again ranked as the main market for Spanish automotive suppliers. In 2025, exports to EU Member States reached €16.785 billion, representing growth of 0.8% compared with the previous year and close to 68% of total exports.
Within the EU market, Germany once again led the destination ranking with €4.051 billion, followed by France, with €3.738 billion, and Portugal, which reached €2.423 billion.
Alongside these traditional markets, other European countries continue to gain prominence within the sector. This is the case of the Czech Republic, where exports grew by 12%, as well as Slovakia (+14.9%) and Romania (+21%), whose performance reflects the growing importance of Central and Eastern Europe in vehicle and component production.
The strength of the European market confirms the ability of Spanish suppliers to meet the needs of an increasingly demanding industry, where proximity, quality, innovation, and logistics flexibility are decisive factors.
Outside the EU market, the United Kingdom once again became the main destination for Spanish automotive component exports.
In 2025, sales reached €1.405 billion, 4.7% more than the previous year, consolidating the long-standing industrial relationship between both countries and confirming the importance of the British market for Spanish manufacturers.
However, one of the most notable aspects of the year was the performance of other international markets that continue to gain importance within the sector’s international strategy.
Türkiye recorded growth of 10.7%, reaching €800 million, while Algeria posted one of the largest increases of the year, more than doubling its imports of Spanish components (+102.7%).
Brazil also recorded very positive performance, with growth of 46.9% compared with 2024.
By contrast, exports declined in markets such as Morocco, the United States, Mexico, and China, reflecting both the slowdown in some of the main international markets and the challenges that the global automotive industry continues to face.
These figures highlight the importance of maintaining an internationalization strategy based on geographical diversification, reducing dependence on specific markets, and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by new regions with strong growth potential.
The 2025 results once again show that the competitiveness of Spanish automotive suppliers does not depend solely on export volume, but also on their ability to adapt to a constantly changing international market.
With a presence in more than 170 countries and an industry made up of more than 1,000 companies, Spain continues to consolidate its position as one of the leading suppliers of automotive components for vehicle manufacturers and the independent aftermarket.
Geographical diversification, together with a commitment to innovation, quality, and industrial flexibility, enables the sector to respond successfully to the challenges arising from electrification, digitalization, and the transformation of mobility, thereby strengthening its competitiveness in the main international markets.
